Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Actalent. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Perform vital sign documentation and prepare patients for exams and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
- Organize and perform patient care services that support the physician's practice, including preparing patients for examination/procedures and assisting physicians with procedures.
- Relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person, ensuring clear communication and patient understanding.
- Collect patient data in person and by phone and document patient concerns, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Administer medications specifically directed by the physician, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
- Complete and accurate message taking, routing messages to the appropriate area for direction, order and referral entry, and set up cases in the EMR system.
- Assist physician/nurse practitioner with exams and procedures, providing support and ensuring a smooth patient experience.
- Accurately document medical information in patient records, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Track and route test results to physician(s)/nurse practitioner(s) for review, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
- Communicate test results with patients when deemed appropriate by physician/nurse practitioner, providing clear and concise information.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies, ensuring a well-stocked and organized environment.
- Perform basic computer skills in using the electronic health record proficiently, conducting daily documentation and communications involved in patient care.
- Process orders appropriately, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Medical Assisting certification or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in using electronic health records.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
