Job Description

As a Paralegal Specialist with the Army National Guard, you will play a vital role in providing legal support to judges, Army lawyers, and unit commanders. Your expertise will be essential in areas such as family law, international law, contract law, defense legal services, and judicial legal services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal documents in courts-martial and other military justice matters
  • Assist in legal affairs, such as power of attorney, wills, and separation decrees
  • Supervise and provide technical guidance to subordinates
  • Maintain law/administrative library
  • Monitor and review actions for accuracy
Training and Benefits

As a Paralegal Specialist, you will receive comprehensive training that will enable you to interview witnesses, research court decisions and Army regulations, process legal claims and appeals, and prepare records of hearings, investigations, courts-martial, and courts of inquiry. You will also be eligible for a range of benefits, including paid training, a monthly paycheck, and access to education and career advancement opportunities.

Requirements
  • Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
  • Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
  • Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
  • Must meet citizenship requirements
