Job Title: Deputy Attorney General I-V

Join the State of Delaware Department of Justice as a Deputy Attorney General I-V in the Civil Division. As a key member of our team, you will defend the State, its agencies, officials, and employees in civil litigation in a wide variety of matters, including employment and civil rights actions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent the State, its agencies, officials, and employees in all civil litigation in federal and state court.
  • Handle a large caseload independently without extensive supervision.
  • Render advice to State agencies, officials, and employees with regard to civil litigation and settlement of lawsuits.
  • Work closely with legal assistants (paralegals) and legal administrative specialists.
Requirements:
  • Membership in the Delaware Bar is required.
  • Admission to the District of Delaware, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, or eligibility for admission to those courts.
  • Experience in civil litigation, preferably including depositions, oral argument, and courtroom experience.
