Job Description

**Mission Manager**

SpaceX is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mission Manager to join our team. As a Mission Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of our space missions, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement mission plans, including launch and landing operations, spacecraft systems, and ground support equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and program management, to ensure that mission objectives are met.
  • Manage and coordinate with external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and suppliers.
  • Ensure that all mission-related activities are conducted in accordance with SpaceX's safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure mission success.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members as needed.
  • Participate in the development of the company's strategic plans and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field, including project management, operations, and engineering.
  • Proven track record of success in managing complex projects and teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field, including project management, operations, and engineering.
  • Experience working with government, NASA, or commercial launch contracts.
  • Professional experience working with launch vehicles, spacecraft, or other aerospace systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
