About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our team at the Vascular Biology Center. The successful candidate will assist in phenotypic analyses of mouse mutants, mouse surgery, and isolation of endothelial and vascular cells from mice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain mouse colony through selective breeding and culling
  • Perform mouse surgery related to cardiovascular diseases
  • Amplify plasmids and adenoviruses
  • Conduct tissue cutting and immunohistochemical and immunofluorescence analysis
  • Perform western blotting and analyze gels
  • Update database with research findings
Requirements
  • Master's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field
  • Two years of experience in research, basic science, or clinical laboratory, particularly clinical trial research
  • Or Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years' research and/or clinical experience, including previous supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Research background in cell culture, histology, molecular biology, and animal surgery
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Attention to detail and strong work ethic
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software
