The Idaho Division of Veterans Services is seeking a Senior Geriatric Care Specialist to join our team at the State Veterans Home in Boise.

About the Role

As a Senior Geriatric Care Specialist, you will provide personal nursing care for elderly residents, including providing activities of daily living. You will also perform leadwork and train nursing assistants on procedures and treatment protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal nursing care for geriatric residents, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Perform leadwork and train nursing assistants on procedures and treatment protocols.
  • Teach self-help skills to residents and their families.
  • Assist with work scheduling and provide input on performance evaluations.
  • Act as a liaison between nursing assistants and charge nurses to recommend changes in resident care planning.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of [estimated salary] per hour (based on experience and qualifications).
  • Experience working with institutional policies and procedures related to patient care.
  • Experience teaching self-help skills to patients and taking and recording vital signs.
  • Possession of Nursing Assistant Certification and listing on the Idaho State Nurse Aide Registry.
