Job Overview

Position Summary

The role involves the installation and maintenance of electrical systems, devices, and electronic components associated with industrial machinery and equipment. Adhering to electrical codes, manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, the technician will utilize hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Install power supply wiring and conduits for newly installed machinery, including robotics and automated systems, in compliance with electrical codes and blueprints.
  2. Connect power supply wires to machinery and interconnect cables between various equipment, following detailed manuals and schematic diagrams.
  3. Diagnose issues in malfunctioning equipment, such as motors and lighting systems, using appropriate testing devices, and replace damaged wiring as necessary.
  4. Replace defective electrical components, including relays and switches, ensuring proper functionality of the machinery.
  5. Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, utilizing electronic testing equipment.
  6. Provide guidance and training to colleagues in similar or different roles.
  7. Collaborate effectively with management and team members across various departments.
  8. Be prepared to travel for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.
  9. Participate in specialized training programs as directed by supervisory staff.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  1. Strong foundation in shop mathematics, including algebra and geometry.
  2. Ability to resolve electrical issues using fundamental electrical principles.
  3. Expertise in calculating wire sizes and insulation requirements for specific applications.
  4. Proficient in using standard electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
  5. Competent in utilizing hand and power tools for electrical conduit fabrication.
  6. Understanding of basic machine components and assembly methods.
  7. Knowledgeable in DC circuits and AC power distribution.
  8. Skilled in interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  9. Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant industry standards.
  10. A minimum of four years of experience in industrial electrical work or equivalent training.
  11. Completion of a technical course in PLC operation or equivalent experience.
  12. Possession of a valid electrician's license or equivalent certification.

Preferred:

  1. Experience in industrial technology and electrical systems is advantageous.
