Job Summary:

As a Radiologic Technologist III-CT at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. Under the direction of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, you will perform radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to produce high-quality images of the body.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures, ensuring optimal diagnostic quality of patient care.
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation, demonstrating a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise.
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, adjusting immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body.
  • Determine exposure factors based on height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required.
  • Operate mobile radiologic equipment in operating rooms, emergency rooms, or at patients' bedsides, assisting radiologists and other qualified physicians in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
  • Prepare images for reading by radiologists or requesting physicians, processing images and reviewing for proper identification and quality control.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
  • Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed, orienting new hires and training students as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of five (5) years continuous experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California), Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California), and Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California) required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
