Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Medical City Plano. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.

About the Role

The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy. You will also assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy
  • Administer respiratory care therapies as prescribed by physicians
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients
  • Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation
Qualifications
  • RRT certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Current RCP license certified by Texas
  • Associate Degree or Certificate of Completion; Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
  • 1 year experience preferred
