About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department. As a vital part of the patient care team, you will perform a variety of diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, monitor patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, and assist with placement of artificial airways.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Performing and documenting patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conducting diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administering respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Initiating, monitoring, and maintaining mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitoring patient for therapeutic response and notifying providers as appropriate.
  • Assisting with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
  • Responding to emergent patient situations and ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 60 months of employment start date.
  • RRT credential with NBRC.
  • RCP license certified by Texas.
  • Associate Degree or Certificate of Completion; Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
  • 1 year of experience preferred.
