Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Tech to join our team at McLean Hospital. As a member of our Resource Team, you will have the opportunity to care for patients on all our in-patient units as well as at the Clinical Evaluation Center.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and participate in therapeutic milieu under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Document patient progress and observations accurately and in a timely manner.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and maintain professional boundaries.
- Identify patient behaviors that contribute to crisis situations and utilize de-escalation techniques.
- Participate in planning and implementation of patient groups.
- Assess patient safety concerns and take appropriate action.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Verbal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
- No experience required, but one year of patient care or related experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills required for electronic medical records and other systems.
- Ability to complete electronic medical records training and demonstrate 80% accuracy on competency test within 30 days of hire.
- Competitive salary with shift differentials.
- Additional $1/hr on base salary for working on the Resource Team.
