Job Summary

The Senior Mortgage Loan Officer is a key member of the American National Bank of Texas team, responsible for originating residential mortgage loans and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loan Origination: Originate residential mortgage loans, pre-qualify customers, and service loans to meet or exceed the Bank's credit quality, profitability, and growth objectives.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with referral and industry sources to maximize loan volume and income, and meet banking center profitability goals.
  • Customer Interaction: Interface with borrowers to take and document loan applications, determine creditworthiness, and communicate loan terms and conditions.
  • Referral Generation: Identify and generate referrals for other bank services, and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Product Knowledge: Advise applicants on mortgage options, explain differences between various types of mortgages, and negotiate loan terms and conditions.
  • Market Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with local real estate market conditions and changes in rules and regulations pertaining to private and government-insured mortgages.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in residential construction and permanent lending, with compliance training and knowledge.
  • Qualifications: Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation for making outside sales calls; registration with the National Mortgage Licensing and Registry (NMLS).
  • Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Word, basic keyboarding and calculator skills, and ability to perform simple math and follow written instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and Spanish is strongly encouraged, with a preference for bilingual candidates.
