Job Summary:
UNFI is seeking a skilled Equipment Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Carlisle. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the prompt and efficient maintenance of our material handling equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide recommendations for repair or replacement of poorly functioning equipment
- Prioritize repair schedules to ensure uninterrupted production
- Troubleshoot equipment problems, including brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and provide improvements as needed
- Manage inventory of parts and tools
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, cleaning, and filter changes
- Replace broken or defective parts and order replacement parts as needed
- Modify and test equipment to improve uptime and reliability
- Update and review daily maintenance logs
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of technical maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1-2 years of on-the-job experience with electronics and mechanical equipment
- Machining and fabrication experience a plus
Physical Demands:
- Lift up to 75 pounds
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently
- Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 to 35 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to work with hands and arms overhead and in high places
- Manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance required
