Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Highmark Health. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position patients and perform imaging procedures with precision and accuracy.
  • Analyze results and identify issues with image quality, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Enter, transmit, and report scan results in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review patient history and physician's orders, educating patients on procedures and equipment as necessary.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice, monitoring patient condition and reporting/responding to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies, selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters, and implementing safety standards and quality control procedures.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Sonography-RT(S) or Vascular Sonography-RT(VS) certification and registration via the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Breast (BS) via the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) earned prior to 2011, or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) certification via Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 12 months of hire.
  • CPR - American Heart Association certification, Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate, Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate, and Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior sonography experience.
