What does the role entail?

Cleaning and Maintenance:

  • Accountable for the upkeep of various buildings within the facility, including satellite offices
  • Cleans workspaces, restrooms, common areas, break rooms, recreational spaces, and meeting rooms; dusts surfaces and furnishings as required
  • Manages carpet and flooring maintenance
  • Conducts general exterior cleaning of all properties
  • Collects and disposes of recycling and waste materials
  • Cleans windows and outdoor areas
  • Replenishes soap, paper towels, and toilet paper supplies
  • Performs deep cleaning tasks, including power washing
  • Identifies and reports potential maintenance issues related to equipment or facilities
What qualifications do you need?

  • At least 1 year of experience in custodial or maintenance roles
Are you equipped to succeed as a Facility Maintenance Technician at H-E-B?

  • Familiarity with standard cleaning practices and appropriate use of cleaning agents
  • Proficiency in operating janitorial tools, such as vacuums, power washers, buffers, handcarts, ladders, and squeegees
  • Capability to maintain a consistent and efficient work pace to fulfill assigned responsibilities within designated timeframes and quality benchmarks
  • Ability to remain on your feet or in motion throughout the work shift
  • Competence in following directions and working with minimal supervision
  • Initiative and self-motivation
  • Strong attention to detail
Can you handle the following tasks?

  • Travel by vehicle as necessary
  • Work in challenging conditions, including extreme temperatures, dust, noise, and dirt
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and carry it over a distance of 25 feet
  • Stand or walk for extended periods
  • Bend and climb ladders as needed
  • Work during night shifts
