Job Summary

The Town of Eagle is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Town Clerk and Municipal Court Supervisor to join our team. This is a full-time position responsible for performing and administering a variety of clerical and statutory duties in the daily operation of the Town.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the codification of ordinances and updates to the Municipal Code
  • Maintain a record-keeping system for Town documents
  • Act as the designated election official, managing and conducting municipal, special, and coordinated elections for the Town
  • Oversee the daily operations of the municipal court, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of court cases and records
  • Administer Town business and tobacco licenses, managing the application process, licensing, and licensee records
  • Supervise the court clerk, managing administrative tasks, providing training and support, and ensuring compliance with legal procedures and regulations
  • Assist in the development and implementation of court policies and procedures
  • Manage complex and sensitive cases and inquiries, maintaining confidentiality and integrity of court information
  • Execute leadership and supervision responsibilities through sound judgment, focusing on quality improvement, managing, and resolving conflict, fostering a culture of accountability, clearly defining responsibilities and expectations, setting goals, providing motivation and performance feedback, recognizing contributions, and encouraging training and development
Requirements
  • 5 years' experience in a highly responsible administrative position, such as Town Clerk, Deputy Clerk, or multiple years of government-related experience that produces the skills and expertise required
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Public Administration, Communication, Business, Management, or related area preferred
  • 2 years' Supervisory experience preferred
  • Certified Municipal Clerk designation and/or Master Municipal Clerk Certification preferred or ability to obtain designation or certification within a period established at the time of hire
  • Proven experience in a court or legal administrative setting and knowledge of court procedures and legal terminology helpful
  • Notary Public or ability to obtain
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
