The hospice aide plays a vital role within the interdisciplinary team, working under the guidance of a registered nurse to provide essential services tailored to the individual needs of patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
1. The Hospice Aide is responsible for addressing personal care needs as assigned, responding promptly to patient requests. If a task cannot be completed, it is essential to inform the Case Manager without delay.
2. Engage with patients and their families using effective communication techniques, ensuring ethical and respectful care, while maintaining confidentiality.
3. Deliver personal care services, including bathing, back massages, oral hygiene, hair washing, and changing bed linens as required.
4. Assist patients with dressing and undressing as per assignments.
5. Maintain respect for the patient and family environment, prioritizing the personal needs of the patient.
Licensure Requirement: Must possess both a CNA and HHA license.
