About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives within the Private Equity sector. This role will be responsible for expanding KSM's services, including transaction advisory, assurance, and tax services, to private equity firms, investment banks, family offices, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to formulate and execute comprehensive business development strategies to drive growth in the Private Equity sector.
  • Identify and target prospective clients within the Private Equity community, leveraging existing networks and conducting market research to generate leads.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with private equity sponsors, investment banks, family offices, professional service providers, and other key stakeholders to foster trust and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including transaction advisory, tax and assurance, and other advisory team members to align business development efforts with service offerings and ensure seamless client service delivery.
  • Represent KSM at industry conferences and events, and develop and participate in the strategy for selecting which conferences and events to attend.
  • Utilize market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions for the team.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business development activities, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the Private Equity sector, financial services, or other highly technical industries.
  • Extensive network of contacts within the Private Equity community, including PE firms, investment banks, family offices, law firms, lenders, and other industry influencers.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence and negotiate at senior levels.
  • In-depth understanding of the Private Equity landscape, including industry trends, regulatory environment, and financial principles.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing business development strategies that drive significant revenue growth.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support business development activities.
