Job Summary

The Emergency Medical Technician Basic provides emergency care to patients requiring EMS procedures in accordance with established medical protocols not to exceed scope of practice. Ensures assigned emergency vehicles and equipment are in an acceptable state of readiness at all times. Provides safe and effective transportation of patients to and from predetermined locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency care to patients in accordance with established medical protocols
  • Ensure emergency vehicles and equipment are in good working condition
  • Transport patients safely and effectively
  • Exemplify excellent service behavior and responsiveness to colleagues, patients, and visitors
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Georgia EMT Basic certification required
  • American Heart Association- Healthcare BLS Provider card required
  • Valid Driver's License required, with a Georgia Driver's License obtained within 30 days of hire
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record required
  • EMT Advanced certification required within one year of hire
