Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a PICU Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill children and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill children, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Monitor and manage life-sustaining therapies, such as mechanical ventilation and vasopressors.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Michigan.
  • Experience working in a pediatric intensive care unit or similar setting.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
