Role Summary

The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor position is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence and safety within our facilities. This role is based in a dynamic manufacturing environment and is accountable to the Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Championing the health and safety of team members while achieving exemplary safety standards.
  • Ensuring adherence to compliance protocols through effective organizational strategies and procedural implementations, including corporate guideline adherence, capability assessments, and training initiatives.
  • Overseeing both routine and emergency mechanical inspections and repairs across all major plant systems and mobile equipment.
  • Formulating and executing strategies for preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Managing mechanical maintenance resources and budget allocations to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders, including the Assistant Plant Manager and Process Engineer, to lead the maintenance function by:
    • Establishing a long-term vision for the Maintenance Department.
    • Reviewing and endorsing bid documents and technical specifications.
    • Coordinating plant projects and scheduled shutdowns.
    • Identifying and fostering development opportunities for maintenance personnel.
    • Providing technical guidance to support production, process, and maintenance teams.
    • Engaging with the corporate engineering team regarding maintenance activities.
  • Delivering ongoing maintenance support across all shifts by managing the plant's on-call maintenance program, which includes assessing and directing responses to maintenance incidents outside regular hours.
Essential Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance methodologies.
  • Experience in managing mechanical and electrical maintenance teams.
  • Background in heavy manufacturing maintenance.
  • Proven project management capabilities.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to ensure effective coordination and completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Experience in conducting Return on Investment analyses and presenting proposals.
  • Commitment to safety and fostering a safety-oriented culture.
  • Ability to connect with and mentor employees in basic mechanical and electrical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and Excel.
  • Familiarity with SAP systems.
  • Experience in cement manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of scheduling and payroll systems.
  • Experience with Medium Voltage systems up to 4,160V is advantageous.
