Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Engineering Specialist to join our team in Renton, US-WA. This role plays a critical part in driving financial accuracy and project success.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to utilize their expertise in resource monitoring and control, combined with their construction knowledge, to keep our projects running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineering and field crews to review production schedules and confirm all materials, equipment, and resources.
  • Analyze all shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements, and project data.
  • Provide technical input for project work plans and scheduling.
  • Identify risk elements of production, materials, equipment, or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.
  • Evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to accurately track project performance.
  • Update project schedules weekly for owner and management reporting.
  • Prepare and manage a three-week work plan.
  • Notify engineering and project management of any significant schedule changes and develop solutions to mitigate delays and cost.
  • Initiate and manage all Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Ensure accurate project quantities using assigned project cost coding to guarantee project financials are accurately reported.
  • Manage invoicing with the accounting team regarding materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs.
  • Review certificates and permits needed to perform work.
  • Review required Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) to ensure a safe and compliance work environment for all construction personnel.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedule, and crews as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years construction engineering experience.
  • Experience in resource monitoring techniques (i.e., cost accounting, basic estimating) and construction technology, process systems, and/or structures preferred.
  • Specialized, technical knowledge of design build or other alternative build techniques.
  • Able to delegate and assign work to engineering teams to progress project production forward.
  • Advanced knowledge of contract specifications and quality assurance practices.
  • Able to identify budget and project costs and recommend options to mitigate project delays.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting methods, quantity tracking methods, and cost coding.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling and production time management preferred.
Compensation Package

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide a personal vehicle allowance of $750 USD/month.
