Job Summary:
The Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the Segment Finance leader by providing analytical insights and decision-making support to the Sales team. This position involves financial reporting, measurement, and the analysis of key performance indicators that influence the Profit and Loss (P&L) statement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive analysis of internal financial data, including profit and loss statements, financial reports, and cost structures.
2. Evaluate potential investment opportunities through financial modeling and assessment of transaction impacts.
3. Analyze external economic factors and their effects on business operations, such as inflation and interest rates.
4. Assist in Mergers & Acquisitions by participating in strategy development, due diligence, and integration processes.
Essential Functions:
- Perform performance evaluations on customer accounts to identify opportunities for profit enhancement.
- Develop metrics and provisions that encourage favorable customer behavior and improve P&L outcomes.
- Collaborate with various departments to strategize on maximizing P&L opportunities.
- Engage with Field Finance to ensure accurate financial accruals and reporting.
- Facilitate communication regarding P&L matters across headquarters and field operations.
- Participate in the recruitment and training of new team members.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a corporate finance environment, focusing on financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Previous experience in sales finance is advantageous but not mandatory.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with MS Access is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to manage confidential information.
