Job Title: Part-Time Mental Health Counselor

Southwestern Community College District (SWCCD) is seeking a qualified Part-Time Mental Health Counselor to join our team. As a Part-Time Mental Health Counselor, you will provide individual appointments and workshops focused on helping students manage and resolve behavioral health symptoms, optimize student psychological, social, and academic functioning, enhance coping skills, and facilitate emotional well-being, student success, and retention.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide face-to-face counseling services to students with limited opportunity for remote service based on student need.
  • Develop and implement counseling programs to promote student mental health and well-being.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to provide comprehensive support services to students.
  • Conduct workshops and group sessions to promote student success and retention.
Requirements:
  • Masters Degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling.
  • OR the equivalent.
  • A bachelors degree in one of the listed degrees and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline.
  • Additional assessment is required for applicants with foreign degrees from colleges or universities outside of the United States.
