Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood specimens from patients using proper technique and protocol, verifying patient and specimen identification to ensure accuracy and safety.
  • Access specimens into computer systems for testing and billing, obtaining signed documents as needed, and reviewing outstanding workload reports to optimize efficiency.
  • Perform Point of Care testing and sample processing as assigned, notifying caregivers of critical values and maintaining accurate records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, guests, and colleagues, using positive interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service and support.
  • Participate in continuing education and training programs to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies, ensuring proficiency in phlebotomy and laboratory procedures.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with 3 months of training in phlebotomy or certification.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and proficiency in laboratory systems.
  • Knowledge of general phlebotomy equipment, office equipment, and laboratory procedures.
