Position Overview:

This role is essential for ensuring the seamless operation of multi-user computing environments, with a strong emphasis on infrastructure and cloud management. The individual will be tasked with developing and designing core operating system frameworks, as well as overseeing coding, virtualization, and system automation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and manage administrator and service accounts, while maintaining an active directory of users and comprehensive system documentation.
  • Optimize system performance, install organization-wide software, and manage mass storage allocation.
  • Identify and resolve user access issues related to security measures to mitigate business risks.
  • Evaluate vendor solutions and implement monitoring and tracking systems for vendor performance.
  • Conduct capacity planning and system tuning to ensure optimal performance.
  • Recommend suitable platforms for acquisition, coordinate installations, and manage backup recovery processes.
  • Act as a primary escalation point for significant incidents that surpass helpdesk capabilities.
  • Develop and enforce policies and standards regarding the utilization of computing resources.
  • Draft IT communications to end-users, including notifications regarding outages and downtimes.
  • Serve as a liaison during mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, focusing on user access, network security, and support.
Background Requirements:

This position is critical for providing technical support for a vital security information system and offering external information system technical assistance.

Work Environment:

This position requires onsite presence.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain system/server configurations.
  • Manage system/server resources, ensuring performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
  • Diagnose and repair faulty system/server hardware.
  • Install, update, and troubleshoot systems and servers.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures for systems administration.
  • Plan, execute, and verify data redundancy and recovery procedures.
  • Conduct routine system maintenance, including physical and electronic cleaning, disk checks, and testing.
  • Provide ongoing optimization and problem-solving support.
  • Design group policies and access control lists to align with organizational standards.
  • Stay informed about relevant cyber defense policies and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain database management systems and ensure directory replication services function effectively.
  • Perform database backup and recovery to uphold data integrity.
  • Offer insights on new database technologies and architectures.
  • Prepare digital media for imaging while ensuring data integrity.
  • Utilize specialized tools and techniques for cataloging and preserving digital evidence.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and configuration evaluations.
  • Participate in the Special Programs Information Security Incident Response Team.
Required Skills:
  • Proficiency with various operating systems, including Windows Server and Linux distributions.
  • Experience with directory services management.
  • Skilled in utilizing virtual machines.
  • Expertise in monitoring and maintaining system/server configurations.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair system/server hardware issues.
  • Experience in developing standard operating procedures for systems administration.
  • Knowledge of data redundancy and recovery procedures.
  • Technical skills in securing networks using industry standards.
  • Strong customer service orientation and teamwork capabilities.
Preferred Skills:

Experience in database administration is advantageous.

Other Requirements:

A Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is mandatory. Candidates may need to undergo a CI polygraph examination.

The interview process will include a phone screening followed by a comprehensive virtual interview with team members.

This role is strictly onsite due to the nature of the responsibilities.
