We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Associate 2 to join our team at Jackson North Medical Center - JN Emergency Room. As a licensed member of the healthcare team, you will perform advanced, supportive administrative and clinical duties to support the delivery of age-specific and single-standard care to patients.
Key Responsibilities- Use a systematic process to provide and modify care and patient/family education.
- Assist the healthcare team with advanced procedures, prepare supplies and equipment, and provide patient/family support.
- Perform a variety of tasks associated with generalized patient care, including vital signs, feeding, mobility, IV lines, drainage, and personal hygiene.
- Utilize specialized equipment as needed when providing patient care.
- Prepare and clean exam rooms, patient treatment areas, and stretchers between patient use.
- Transport patients to and from treatment areas as needed.
- Maintain supplies and equipment for patient floors, including inventory, ordering, stocking, rotating, and charging.
- Assist with office duties as needed, including answering phones and taking messages.
- 1-3 years of related experience.
- High School diploma required.
- Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure.
- Knowledge and skill in use of job-appropriate technology and software applications.
This role requires extended standing or walking, carrying objects weighing 21-50 pounds, and lifting or moving objects weighing 51-100 pounds with the use of appropriate devices. The job function is subject to inside environmental conditions, with occasional outdoor exposures.
Exposure to Various EnvironmentsThis role may expose you to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a hospital and medical office environment. You must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when exposed to infectious/clinical hospital environments.
