Job Overview

The Senior CNC Lathe Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the operations of Lathe Machines. This position entails ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of all CNC and Mill Machines, along with other machinery as required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· **Education**: A High School Diploma is essential. Additional qualifications in CNC Mill/Lathe operation are highly valued.

· **Experience**: A minimum of 5 years' experience in operating CNC Mill/Lathe, including setup and programming, is mandatory.

· **Team Management**: Responsible for managing personnel, prioritizing jobs, scheduling tasks, programming, and maintaining all Lathe and Mill machines.

· **Daily Operations**: Review Bills of Materials, Parts Orders, and Manufacturing lists to establish priorities based on production and shipping timelines.

· **Collaboration**: Work closely with Engineers and fellow Lead Machinists to optimize job flow through production, ensuring efficiency and adherence to standards.

· **Quality Assurance**: Collaborate with engineers to enhance parts, rectify errors in prints, and address discrepancies.

· **Process Improvement**: Actively seek and implement improvements in tools and processes to benefit both the department and overall production.

· **Technical Skills**: Utilize basic geometry and mathematics to calculate values and write CNC Lathe programs based on engineering blueprints.

· **Tooling**: Select appropriate tooling for each job, set up physical tooling, and instruct on program execution.

· **Program Management**: Save frequently used programs and sequences to enhance efficiency, updating them as designs evolve.

· **Machining Oversight**: Monitor machining progress, particularly for parts with tight tolerances, and use simulations to prevent errors.

· **Maintenance**: Conduct daily maintenance of machines and work areas, including checking coolant and lubrication levels, emptying chip barrels, and organizing tools.

QUALIFICATIONS
