Job Overview

Reporting To: Warehouse Supervisor

Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Role Summary:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a forklift to facilitate the movement of products within the warehouse. This includes loading, unloading, and organizing materials to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a forklift to manage the loading and unloading of products.
  • Identify and report any inventory discrepancies to management.
  • Assist in conducting inventory audits and participate in annual inventory counts.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing products for damage and report any issues.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Maintain security protocols within the warehouse.
  • Review production schedules and shipping orders to prepare materials for transport.
  • Utilize protective materials to secure loads during transport.
  • Communicate any transportation or material issues to the supervisor.
  • Organize and manage storage of drums, skids, pallets, and other supplies.
  • Report equipment maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in operating a forklift.
  • Basic math and reading skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Physical capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Work hours: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with 12-hour shifts.
  • Primarily operates in a warehouse setting.
  • Must maintain focus and situational awareness during tasks.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as required.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Previous forklift experience is preferred.

Note: Successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
