Employment Type: Part-time Shift: Weekend Shift Position Overview: The MRI Imaging Specialist I is tasked with evaluating the Physician Order and the rationale for the examination, ensuring patient readiness, proper positioning, and executing MRI imaging procedures. This role requires a profound understanding of MRI/MRA technology and the clinical indicators relevant to the exams conducted. The MRI Imaging Specialist may modify scanning protocols based on the anatomical and physiological characteristics observed during the imaging process. Collaboration with MRI leadership and Radiologists is essential to achieve the highest quality diagnostic images in line with departmental standards. The specialist is responsible for administering contrast media as dictated by specific diagnostic protocols and may assist the physician or Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in performing MRI-guided invasive procedures. This position demands a variety of technical skills requiring independent judgment, integrity, and initiative, with the ability to operate with minimal supervision.

Qualifications and Core Competencies:

Education:

  • Completion of an accredited MRI Technologist program.
  • Advanced certification in MRI by ARRT or ARMRIT; OR MRI Registry-eligible with certification to be obtained within 12 months of employment.
  • Ongoing Continuing Education credits (24 CEU over two years) and other requirements to sustain ARRT certification.

Licensure: Current Indiana MRI Technologist license is preferred. Healthcare BLS certification is required.

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of current or recent experience in MRI scanning is preferred.
