Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Senior Research & Development Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of new mechanical products for the robotics painting market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select and package critical mechanical components, including castings, weldments, drives, commercial components, and various other machined parts
  • Guide and develop Research and Development Engineers
  • Develop, update, and release components, assemblies, and drawings in CAD
  • Present proposed new product concepts
  • Review and rationalize designs in context of cost, schedule, and risk
  • Define and implement required analysis for mechanical design problems
  • Define and execute product validation and performance tests
  • Estimate both the material and development costs of a proposed design
  • Review dimensioning and tolerancing strategies for new designs
  • Troubleshoot and investigate interdisciplinary problems related to robot motion, electrical, and fluid flow hardware
  • Create technical procedures and content for product documentation
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Master's Degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years experience in Mechanical Design and Analysis (SolidEdge, SolidWorks, 3D, 2D CAD, Ansys, Mathcad, etc.)
  • Demonstrated record of development of mechanisms
  • Demonstrated ability to read prints
  • Well-developed understanding of industrial design and engineering practices
  • Familiarity with general manufacturing processes and their related costs
