CAMBA, a leading provider of social services, seeks a highly skilled and dedicated Security Guard to join our team at Bronx Grove Supportive Housing. As a Security Guard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain the security and fire safety of the entire facility, including patrolling buildings and grounds, examining doors, windows, and fire exits, and reporting irregularities.
  • Employ crisis prevention and intervention skills to de-escalate conflicts and ensure a safe environment.
  • Conduct security screenings of all tenants and visitors entering the facility and issue commendations for positive behaviors.
  • Counsel tenants who violate rules and complete infraction reports.
  • Document incidents, property damage, and unusual occurrences in the security log book and incident report forms.
  • Maintain assigned equipment and sign it in and out for each shift.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and/or equivalent experience.
  • Obtain Criminal History Checks (CHC) fingerprinting through the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) and the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs (Justice System).
  • Ability to maintain fingerprint clearance throughout the duration of employment.
  • Must have 8 hour Pre-Assignment security guard training course certificate.
  • Must obtain 16 hour On-the-Job security guard training course certificate within 90 days of employment.
  • Must complete 8 Hour Annual In-Service Course each calendar year.
  • Must have and maintain a NYS Security Guard license.
  • Must obtain NYS Security Guard registration and maintain registration during employment.
  • Must obtain Fire guard certification and maintain it throughout employment.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate of $18.00.
  • Full-time position with 35 hours per week.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, 403(b) retirement plan with employer match, paid time off, and paid holidays.
