Job Summary

The Department of Food & Agriculture seeks a highly skilled Supervising Auditor I, Milk Marketing to coordinate and supervise the work of an audit group performing complex financial reviews of dairy processing plants and dairy cooperatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of an audit group to ensure QAP assessments are collected and distributed for each dairy producer by milk handlers on behalf of dairy producers.
  • Perform complex financial reviews of dairy processing plants and dairy cooperatives to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement audit plans to ensure effective and efficient audit processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to audit team members to ensure successful completion of audits.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve audit findings and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in auditing, with a focus on dairy industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and audit software.
Working Conditions

The work environment is typically an air-conditioned office environment with occasional outdoor trips/visits to dairies. The employee works at a desk or workstation with a telephone, computer, and printer. On occasion, the employee is required to travel, both by air and by car. The employee attends meetings at a variety of venues. The employee may tour dairy farms and dairy processing facilities which involves walking across wet, slippery floors, climbing ladders, and being exposed to the noise of loud machinery.

Special Requirements
  • A valid California Drivers License (CDL) is required.
  • Interested individuals must submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) with their State application.
