POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Kitchen Manager plays a vital role in overseeing the culinary operations within our establishment. This position entails a variety of responsibilities, including the execution of brand and company standards, staff scheduling, training, and the preparation of all food items in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a daily checklist to ensure all kitchen preparations are completed.
  • Prepare high-quality dishes consistently by adhering to established recipes.
  • Ensure all food containers are properly labeled and managed according to safety regulations.
  • Oversee inventory management for pars, preparation, line, and storage areas.
  • Conduct monthly inventory assessments.
  • Design and implement new menus in alignment with brand and company standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, free from potential safety hazards.
  • Keep accurate logs of kitchen activities.
  • Safely operate all kitchen appliances, including grills, ovens, and fryers.

Supervisory Duties: May oversee the work of line cooks.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Certification or degree in Food & Beverage Service or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Culinary Management within an upscale dining environment.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a hotel setting is required.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation and presentation techniques.
  • Ability to handle high-volume cooking efficiently.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items up to 100 lbs.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Friendly and hospitable demeanor towards guests and colleagues.

Compensation: $20-25 per hour

Work Environment: This position operates in a professional kitchen, dining area, bar, and office settings. The role frequently utilizes standard restaurant equipment, point of sale systems, and office technology.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role:

  • Regular standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, and use of fine and gross motor skills.

Occasional bending or lifting of items up to 25 lbs.
