Job Summary

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment at our hotel. This includes participating in the preventative maintenance program, handling guest requests, and performing trade jobs such as carpentry, painting, and plumbing. The ideal candidate will have experience in a hotel or related field and possess a valid driver's license. Responsibilities
  • Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on guest rooms, including vinyl repair, touch-up paint, and minor furniture repair.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guest rooms, meeting rooms, the swimming pool, and hot tub.
  • Perform plumbing repair, laundry equipment repair, and preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply.
  • Monitor energy conservation and repair vacuum cleaners and other small equipment upon request.
  • Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause, and report to the Front Desk with findings.
Requirements
  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.).
  • Must have a valid driver's license for the applicable state.
  • Must have an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record).
  • Certificate of completion of a one-year college or technical school program; or three to six months of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, painting, and HVAC systems preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and meticulousness; monitor own work to ensure quality and apply feedback to improve performance.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility in response to change and adapt to new methods and procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety principles and federal and state OSHA regulations.
