Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Carle Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing sonography-imaging procedures, including biopsy procedures, and working closely with radiologists to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and complex sonography imaging procedures, acquiring and processing patient exams in accordance with accrediting bodies and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Select proper sonography protocols and techniques to obtain optimal data, and review cases with radiologists when necessary.
  • Review patient history and supporting clinical data to perform correct exams, and take steps to acquire additional information if needed.
  • Ensure imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment, and review patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
  • Transfer and verify image data in PACS and other digital and reporting systems, providing necessary medical history and information for radiologist interpretation.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and workplace environment, including supply inventories and work area orderliness, and recognize malfunctions and service needs.
  • Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety, and report safety events immediately, including near misses.
  • Assist in instruction of students and new staff as necessary, and may perform duties of Sono Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence.
  • Meet productivity levels as established by department benchmarking, and assist other areas during downtimes to maintain productivity.
Requirements
  • Diploma (not HS) in a related field or certificate in radiologic technology.
  • CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: RDMS Abdomen (AB)(ARDMS) upon hire or RDMS Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN)(ARDMS) upon hire or Sonography (S)(ARRT) upon hire.
  • Basic knowledge of computers to access programs.
