Job Summary:

The School District Of Philadelphia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Services Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our food services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising a crew of food services workers, maintaining records and preparing reports, and ensuring the highest level of food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Train Staff: Supervise a crew of food services workers, determine work assignments, work methods, and production goals, and review work in progress.
  • Culinary Operations: Prepare and cook daily breakfast, lunch, and after-school meals following prescribed menus and standardized recipes, portion and serve food to children and adults.
  • Inventory Management: Order food, produce, and supplies using automated ordering systems, record market quotations and other ordering information, receive deliveries, and check the accuracy of delivery slips.
  • Financial Management: Sort and count bills and coins received daily, prepare daily deposit slips, and weekly cash card listings.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Prepare weekly operations, monthly milk and platter, and time and attendance reports.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Clean service or preparation areas, remove trash from kitchen areas.

Requirements:

  • Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth school grade.
  • Experience: Three years of full-time, paid cooking experience in a large-scale institutional environment using standardized recipes, or one year of full-time, paid experience as a Food Services Worker II with The School District Of Philadelphia, or successful completion of accredited college-level coursework in food safety, quantity food production, human resource management, and sanitation programs.
