Job Description

Job Summary:

The Outreach Team is seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Voter Registration Canvasser. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in engaging with the public, educating them on the importance of their vote, and registering new voters in California.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner to educate them on the importance of their vote.
  • Deliver a compelling campaign message and collect complete survey answers from voters.
  • Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills and stay up-to-date on the latest campaign strategies.
  • Strictly follow the campaign's safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and compliance with daily health and safety guidelines.

Team Leader Responsibilities:

  • Manage a small group of canvassers out in the field by checking in with them periodically throughout the day and debriefing with them at the end of the day.
  • Ensure each canvasser has all of the materials they need to be safe and successful.
  • Assist directors with canvasser training and administrative work.

Requirements:

  • Passionate about progressive politics and fostering democracy.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to engage with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Hard worker who will stay motivated to engage as many people as possible.
  • Open to new challenges and interested in building their campaign skills.
  • Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive hourly rate of $24 for canvassers and $26 for Team Leaders.
  • Paid training and sick pay.
