Position Summary:

The role involves overseeing capital expenditure projects within manufacturing facilities, collaborating with a diverse team of both salaried and hourly personnel. Responsibilities may encompass the entire project lifecycle, from initial conceptualization to final closure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead capital projects within manufacturing environments.
  • Maintain a strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring a zero-tolerance policy for unsafe practices.
  • Uphold ethical standards in all interactions, ensuring fairness and competitiveness.
  • Facilitate transparent communication among team members and stakeholders.
  • Motivate team members to focus on achieving a cost-effective and efficient operation that aligns with business objectives.
  • Promote Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and uphold safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality System (QS), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), OSHA, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing, which is vital to the engineering ethos.
  • Safeguard the company's technological and proprietary knowledge, ensuring it is well-managed and respected.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7 to 10+ years of experience in managing capital projects within manufacturing settings.
  • Proficient in project management tasks including planning, scope definition, bidding, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, resource allocation, change management, and risk assessment.
  • Experience with procurement processes related to equipment and construction contracts.
  • Background in process engineering within sectors such as food, beverage, dairy, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, or consumer packaged goods, with a focus on GMP compliance.
  • Familiarity with permitting processes.
  • Experience in plant design and construction.
  • Supervisory experience in leading both internal and external project teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change within a manufacturing context.
  • Strong technical, managerial, and leadership capabilities.
  • Knowledge of hygienic and sanitary design principles.
  • Familiarity with 3A standards.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and equipment requirements is advantageous.
  • Comprehension of financial analysis and business drivers.
  • Experience with CAPEX budgeting and preparation.
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, MS Excel, basic AutoCAD, and Visio.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for factory acceptance testing (FAT) and equipment selection, up to 5% of the time.
