Key Responsibilities

The College of Arts and Sciences at North Park University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Sociology, with the rank open to Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing the department's academic offerings and will be expected to teach a range of courses, including but not limited to race and ethnicity, social issues, and urban sociology.

Each semester, the faculty member will be responsible for three teaching loads, with one load equating to a four-semester-hour course. The department seeks individuals who can address pressing educational needs and contribute to the development of sociology and criminal justice majors.

Preferred candidates will possess a Ph.D. in Sociology, with an additional graduate degree in law, criminology, or criminal justice being advantageous. A strong research agenda, along with a commitment to mentoring students and engaging in university service, is essential.
