Responsibilities
The College of Arts and Sciences at North Park University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track role in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice. This position is open to candidates at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing the department's academic offerings, particularly in sociology and criminal justice.
The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching three courses each semester, focusing on essential subjects such as race and ethnicity, social issues, social theory, introductory sociology, and urban sociology. Proficiency in additional courses, including sociology of deviance, social research methods, and criminology, is highly desirable.
Applicants holding a Ph.D. in Sociology, along with an additional graduate degree in law, criminology, or criminal justice, will be given preference. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a robust research agenda that aligns with their teaching expertise and contribute to the academic community through advising and mentoring students.
