Position Overview

This is a full-time onsite position for a Pharmacist at Accredo Services. The role is worksite dependent and requires presence at the designated location.

Work Schedule

The working hours for this position are Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Role Summary

The Pharmacist is accountable for processing, dispensing, verifying, and compounding prescriptions while adhering to corporate, legal, and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include interpreting physicians' prescriptions and communicating with healthcare providers or patients to confirm necessary information. The Pharmacist also monitors order status, addresses outstanding issues, and provides consultations regarding medication management and usage. Additionally, inventory and patient refill management are key responsibilities. The Pharmacist is expected to maintain production and quality standards while prioritizing tasks to meet operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the essential duties of a licensed Pharmacist.
  • Ensure oversight and quality assurance.
  • Interpret prescriptions from healthcare providers.
  • Communicate with prescribers and patients to verify prescription details for efficient processing.
  • Coordinate with prescribers or pharmacies for new, refill, or transfer prescriptions.
  • Validate the legitimacy of controlled substances in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Review the accuracy of prescription data entered into the system.
  • Assist prescribers in transitioning prescriptions to generic or preferred medications when feasible.
  • Support healthcare providers with clinical inquiries related to medication management and patient therapies.
  • Facilitate inter-departmental communication to streamline the prescription process for timely medication delivery.
  • Assist with inventory management and procurement.
  • Conduct patient consultations regarding medication usage and potential interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current pharmacist license in good standing.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to collaborate with various departments to resolve issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret prescriptions accurately.
  • Focus on customer service, quality, and precision.
  • Ability to manage timelines and meet strict deadlines.
  • Adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours during peak periods.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated hourly rate for this position will be determined based on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location. This role may also be eligible for an annual bonus program.
