Primary Objective of the Role

The Security Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in crafting and implementing a strategic framework aimed at enhancing and sustaining the organization's security stance. This position requires a deep understanding of security methodologies, incident management, containment, and recovery processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Address urgent security incidents, evaluate the potential impact of threats, and coordinate effective strategies for containment, mitigation, and elimination.
  • Oversee escalation support, manage security tickets, and lead security incident response efforts. Act as a project manager for significant security initiatives.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the Bank's systems and applications. Prioritize and implement critical security patches and remediation actions as necessary.
  • Support and uphold security measures across various platforms to ensure compliance with internal security policies, safeguarding the integrity of enterprise networks, systems, and applications.
  • Stay informed on the latest cybersecurity best practices, trends, and technologies.
  • Act as a security expert to foster awareness and encourage transparent communication with other teams and departments.
  • Develop and execute strategies for threat mitigation. Conduct event reporting and trend analysis.
  • Ensure that all work performed adheres to applicable banking laws and regulations related to data security.
  • Participate in on-call rotations or respond to critical incidents as required.
  • May be required to work during evening or night hours.

Experience Required

  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in Information Security and/or Security Operations.
  • Experience in a financial services environment is advantageous.
  • Three (3) years of practical knowledge of security technologies, including but not limited to vulnerability management, cloud security, web proxies, endpoint and email protection, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and privileged account management.

Essential Skills and Training

  • Hands-on experience with security architecture, technologies, and solutions.
  • Proficient in detecting, analyzing, and responding to security events.
  • Experience in managing system and/or application vulnerabilities.
  • Able to apply security principles and oversight based on best practices and industry standards.
  • Comprehensive understanding of a wide range of security technologies and their functionalities.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across the organization.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of federal and state laws/regulations related to information safeguards and controls, including standards set by the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST).
  • Familiarity with the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) and section 501(b) of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act is a plus.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills, including the ability to consolidate extensive data sets from various sources to identify patterns and risk factors.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn in a practical environment. A critical thinker capable of researching, developing, and communicating solutions to detect security incidents promptly.
