The Kentucky Personnel Cabinet is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Senior Manager of Human Services Programs. This position plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of the Equity and Determinants of Health Branch within the Department for Medicaid Services (DMS). The DMS is committed to enhancing healthcare access for eligible low-income residents of Kentucky, including vulnerable populations such as children, families, pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with departmental leadership to develop, monitor, and manage goals related to equity.
2. Formulate policies and procedures relevant to branch operations.
3. Supervise and coordinate the activities of all branch staff.
4. Conduct recruitment and interview processes, design and implement training programs, and perform necessary performance evaluations.
5. Work collaboratively with various teams and agencies to track and enhance equity-related initiatives.
6. Innovate and oversee reporting processes aimed at identifying barriers to healthcare access.
7. Prepare presentations and represent the division in meetings, conferences, and webinars as required.
8. Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of experience in Medicaid, Medicare, or healthcare settings.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in task completion.
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse groups and teams.
- Leadership skills to motivate and coordinate staff efforts.
- Capability to perform well under pressure.
- A commitment to mentoring and supporting staff development.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: Five years of professional experience in managing human services programs or related fields.
- Substitutions: A master’s degree in relevant fields may substitute for one year of required experience.
Working Conditions:
Incumbents typically perform their duties in an office environment. This position may involve a probationary period as per state regulations.
