Job Summary:

This position is responsible for receiving and storing evidence from law enforcement agencies in a secure and organized manner. The candidate will coordinate forensic examinations with laboratory staff and record relevant data in a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy and security of evidence data, including items, names, case numbers, and required information entered into the LIMS.
  • Maintain the integrity of the evidence room and adhere to policies and procedures for access to secured areas.
  • Comply with laboratory policies regarding evidence submissions, retention, and return.
  • Communicate issues related to non-compliance, security, safety, and LIMS to the laboratory director or quality assurance manager.
  • Provide training to law enforcement agencies on evidence handling and submission procedures.
  • Travel to cover duties in forensic science laboratories and potential overnight stays.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience with data entry and inventory control
  • Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, criminal justice, or forensic science
  • Experience working in a forensic laboratory or with law enforcement agencies
  • LIMS experience
  • Exceptional organizational skills and adaptability
