About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Information Specialist to join our team at Library Systems & Services. This is a unique opportunity to work with a prestigious federal library in the Research Triangle Park area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert support for public access to scientific research and collaborate with researchers and scholars to ensure compliance with public access policies.
  • Develop and deliver training, technical support, and outreach for all aspects of research information management, including tracking and reporting on predatory journals.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Lead the implementation of the Public Access Policy Compliance program.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert and lead service point for the manuscript tracking system, PACTS.
  • Provide support for legacy manuscript tracking system, MSMANAGER.
  • Advise on research information management issues, including identifying predatory journals and answering copyright questions.
  • Support online researcher profiles and resume systems, such as ORCID, ResearcherID, and My NCBI Bibliography.
  • Develop resource lists for diversity portfolio months.
  • Create training materials and teach group and one-on-one training classes.
  • Assist with marketing and outreach events, including content development for the website and internal communications.
  • Develop and deploy annual customer satisfaction surveys and summarize results.
  • Handle literature searches and bibliometric reports.
Requirements
  • ACA-accredited MLS (Master of Library Science) degree.
  • Master's degree in Library Science with a specialization in government libraries or a related field.
  • Three years of experience providing customer service in a library, educational, or public service environment.
  • Three years of experience using popular software programs with the ability to learn new technology.
