Job Title: Scholarly Communications Librarian

We are seeking a highly skilled Scholarly Communications Librarian to join our team at Library Systems & Services. As a key member of our library team, you will play a critical role in supporting public access to scientific research and working with researchers and scholars to ensure that required research data and manuscripts are submitted to a public access database.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert support for public access to scientific research, including tracking and reporting on predatory journals.
  • Develop and deliver training, technical support, and outreach for all aspects of scholarly communications.
  • Collaborate with researchers and scholars to ensure compliance with public access policies.
  • Provide guidance on scholarly communications issues, including identifying predatory journals and answering copyright questions.
  • Support online researcher profiles and CV systems, such as ORCID, ResearcherID, and My NCBI Bibliography.
  • Develop resource lists for diversity portfolio months.
  • Design and deliver classes and training materials.
  • Teach group and one-on-one training classes.
  • Assist with marketing and outreach events, including content development for the website and The Connection.
  • Develop and deploy annual customer satisfaction surveys and summarize results.
  • Conduct literature searches and bibliometric reports.

Requirements:

  • ACA-accredited MLS (Master of Library Science) degree.
  • Three years of experience providing customer service in a library, educational, or public service environment.
  • Three years of experience using popular software programs, with the ability to learn new technology, preferably with experience in manuscript management systems.
