The Nuclear Pharmacist I will play a critical role in compounding and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals, working in a clean room environment with occupational exposure to radiation.
Key Responsibilities:- Compound, dispense, and distribute radiopharmaceuticals, including data entry for end-of-day reports and daily dose management reports.
- Perform synthesis, quality control, and quality assurance of FDG and NaF, including reagent preparation.
- Ensure compliance with USP, FDA regulations, and other state pharmacy requirements, maintaining personal licensure in good standing.
- Adhere to standard operation procedures (SOPs) and regulations, including 21 CFR Parts 211 and 212 requirements, to maintain a state of cGMP control.
- Ensure aseptic operations follow internal procedures, customer requirements, and FDA regulations.
- Comply with radiation and laboratory safety protocols, addressing chemical or radioactive spills and reporting.
- Complete cGMP documents as required and assist site and corporate Quality Assurance with investigations, corrective actions, and deviations.
- Write and review internal procedures, and review and release batch records as applicable.
- Initiate, maintain, and review network and site-specific procedures relative to job functions.
- Monitor the metrology program, ensuring equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, or validated.
- Address customer/patient complaints, working with customers to resolve issues promptly and effectively.
- Provide on-the-floor QA oversight, identifying non-compliance problems and proposing solutions.
- Provide quality customer service associated with radiopharmaceuticals to physicians, healthcare workers, and customers.
- Train and supervise nuclear pharmacy technicians, maintaining accurate training records.
- Attend corporate and site-level meetings as applicable.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions or complaints from groups of managers, clients, customers, or regulatory agencies.
- Strong management and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in all MS Office applications.
- Ability to be detail-oriented, responsible, dependable, patient, organized, professional, and work in a team environment.
- Ability to work various shifts and weekends.
- Ability to communicate professionally with colleagues and customers.
