Job Summary

As a Catering Captain with Compass Group Careers, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our catering operations. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate catering staff schedules to guarantee timely delivery, service, and clearance of functions. You will also prepare and serve food at scheduled events under the supervision of the Catering Director. Additionally, you may be required to drive a truck to deliver food and beverages to catered functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine workload requirements from catering orders and meet with function group leaders to discuss setup arrangements.
  • Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service-oriented manner, demonstrating a complete understanding of menu items.
  • Instruct staff on work expectations for catered functions and help them set up rooms to desired specifications.
  • Assemble and deliver food and supplies to scheduled locations, serve food and beverages to guests, and return food, beverages, serving equipment, and utensils to the catering facility.
  • Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures, following HACCP standards, and maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A valid driver's license may be required, and you must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler's permit and/or alcohol servers permit where required by state law.
