Asset Protection Specialist

At Stop & Shop, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Asset Protection Associate to join our team. As an Asset Protection Associate, you will play a critical role in protecting our company's assets and ensuring a safe and secure shopping environment for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Administrative Tasks: Follow proper timecard procedures, complete necessary paperwork, and review discrepancies with the Store Management Team and Asset Protection Manager.
- Customer/Associate Apprehensions: Survey the store for apprehensions of shoplifters, apprehend and detain shoplifters, dishonest associates, and vendors, conduct interviews related to incidents of theft, and complete all apprehension records and reports.
- Front End/Service Desk Policy Violations: Observe cashier performance for adherence to procedures, inform the Store Manager of any violations, provide counterfeit detection training to front-end associates, and monitor usage of counterfeit detection units to reduce losses.
- Internal Safety Standards: Report OSHA safety violations to the Store Manager, participate in safety and accident prevention meetings for Associates, complete Compactor Audits, and inspect the interior and exterior of the building for physical security issues.
- Internal Security Standards: Conduct spot checks of perimeter and 6 p.m. perimeter alarm systems, tour the perimeter of the store daily, check exits, alarms, storage trailers, and areas where merchandise could be concealed, and conduct random parcel/purchase checks at the direction of the Asset Protection Manager.
- Total Store Operations: Train existing and new Asset Protection Associates as assigned, meet with the Store Manager and Asset Protection Manager on a regular basis to report store compliance with safety and security standards, and complete the Asset Protection Refocus program to reduce shrink and improve compliance to AP initiatives.
